‘THE ELEMENT OF PRIMARY COLOURS‘
STIWDIO MAELOR – ANNUAL COMPETITION 2019 – CLOSED
TWO-WEEK RESIDENCY WITH VOUCHERS FROM LOCAL BUSINESSES.
THEME: ‘THE ELEMENT OF PRIMARY COLOURS’
In 2015, Stiwdio Maelor started an annual competition, the aim of which is to enable an artist to win an opportunity to complete a residency at Maelor. Each year a different technique/medium is chosen. Maelor aims to bring artists from all walks of life together and works on a not for profit basis to provide affordable residencies for diverse artists at various stages of their careers.
The winners of the 2019 annual competition:
Ivana Blanco Gross of New York: two week residency with vouchers from Idris Stores Cafe, Tafarn Dwynant, Dylanwad, The Aberystwyth Printmakers, Inkwells, Nicely Hung, Slaters Arms, Brigand Inn and The Deco Shop.
People’s Choice: Karen Eames from England
And a very special prize from the judge:
Katy Helman, who judge the competition, decided she wanted to award a prize for a runner up, so she has partly funded a residency for Chris Williams from England
