Kate Boucher - UK

Kate was born in the Midlands and moved to Sussex in 2014. Following her BA in Public Art at Chelsea College of Art in 1994, she became an art technician at Stafford College, before retraining as a secondary-school art teacher in 2007. Keen to pursue her own art practice again, she started studying at West Dean College (WD), which then awarded her the Edward James Foundation Scholar. She subsequently won the prestigious QEST Scholarship in 2015 and went on to achieve Distinction in her MFA (from WD). Incredibly, the accolades don’t stop there! She was awarded the Valerie Power Prize for Visual Arts from WD, and in 2017 was shortlisted again by QEST. She is currently studying the practice-based PhD programme at UCA Schools Farnham on a scholarship.
