After careers in teaching, the Commonwealth Public Service, and in Australia’s aid programme in various countries in the Pacific and Africa, Sharon Fields began a new career as a Botanical Artist in 2008. Her work pushes the boundaries of traditional botanical art and she seeks to paint and draw plants and animals that display the character and the scars of a life well lived, of a purpose achieved. Her attention to detail is a hallmark of the work, which has been described by critics as “exquisite”
