Studio 2 – Mary Bratton

Mary Bratton is a writer.

Originally from Kilburn in Adelaide, South Australia, she now lives in both Australia and Wales. When in Australia she works in the Kimberley region of Western Australia in towns like Halls Creek and Fitzroy Crossing.

Mary completed a degree in English Literature at the University of Adelaide and in the 1990’s received a Commonwealth Scholarship to complete a PhD in Critical and Cultural Theory at the University of Cardiff. Whilst studying at in Cardiff she explored the area her Grandfather came from in north Wales (Y Bala) and being a keen bikerider fall in love with the area where her mother’s family originated and started her life of living in two countries.

Mary has been published in several journals and her work explores the intersection between mathematics and geology.
