Elena is a live and visual artist whose work is concerned with site contextual or site responsive situations that are sensitive to time, place and people. Her work often examines the overlooked and obscure, tapping in to oral histories, collective understandings and forgotten truths. Elena creates narrative interventions that invite audiences to participate, comment and create. Her work sets up humorous or subtle paradoxes in the everyday and mundane and seeks to be a playful intervention in unexpected places.

During her week at Stiwdio Maelor Elena would like to create an alternative map of the village that may reference stories, personal anecdotes and the industrial heritage of the village.
