“Since qualifying as an art therapist in 2011 my energies have been directed to my work as an art therapist in the community. In this role I use art to promote well-being and to help people reach a deeper understanding of themselves.
More recently I have been re-engaging with my own personal art projects in a studio that I share with a fellow artist. I am currently preparing for an exhibition in November.
I work principally in print, drawing and paint. At present I am exploring mezzotint and other print mediums.
My work explores memory, and in particular how this can be a nebulous, poignant and at times inaccessible place. Alongside this theme I also look at how exploring the unconscious can act as a guide in helping to make the hidden known. Themes that draw on Jung’s ideas on both the personal and collective unconscious are also explored.”
