Solar Dreams

Solar Dreams is an ongoing collaborative art project between Meike Kuhnert and Ulrike Sperling. Taking its initial impulse from the science – fiction novel The drowned World by J. G. Ballard, Solar Dreams creates an atmosphere of a pre-apocalyptic scenario, which is caused by global warming and and reflects upon its psychological consequences for humanity. In the first of a series of exhibitions, a fictitious scenario is drawn, which will transform itself by every following exhibition into the final meltdown.

Ulrike Sperling and Meike Kuhnert want to use the time at the residency to do further research on the idea of Solar Dreams. The somewhat withdrawn location without internet access and the remarkable landscape will put them in the right mood to continue working on the next instalment of Solar Dreams.
