Nisa spent a decade working and studying in Mainland China, Hong Kong and Japan. She has photographed performance art festivals in Asia, Scandinavia, France and the UK, and she co-curated Beijing Live 2012. Nisa is returning to Stiwdio Maelor for the second time.
For nearly two decades Ojalvo has brought her inquisitive eye to the documentation of live art, focusing her gaze on the meeting point of subject, material and process. She currently collaborates with several international performance artists.
In 2016, Nisa completed a collaborative residency with Rita Marhaug (Norway) and Traci Kelly (UK/Germany), as part of the collective, kelly|marhaug|ojalvo. The collective is dedicated to making site specific performance for camera in a varied natural landscape. Their work spans performance, photography, video, sculpture and installation. Nisa’s work as a member of kelly|marhaug|ojalvo is a vital strand of her artistic development and creative output.
